Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Technical Marketing Assistant for a fast growing, niche technology, brilliant, high-growth client. The company specialises in the design and manufacturing of high-volume production test systems for all types of Discrete Semiconductors.

Based in Surrey, our engineering-led client is a small, privately-owned manufacturer of power-discrete semiconductor electronic test systems for production back-end and wafer test. They design, develop, manufacture and support their own line of bespoke products which are installed mainly in South East Asia as well as Europe and the US. 

The role 
Reporting to the Marketing and Support Manager, the Marketing Assistant will hold a pivotal position, with a high customer profile.  The role consists of two main areas of responsibility; the assistant to the Marketing Manager helping to develop our existing customer base by developing and managing the brand, creating quotes and dealing with a broad range of sales related queries, and will be the first point of contact with their customers for all aspects of order fulfilment including managing delivery queries and liaising with the factory and shipping agent regarding order progress & status.
The role is office based though overseas travel could occasionally be required. 
 
The person 
 
Being an electronics engineering company, the role would best suit a higher diploma or graduate-level candidate in a technical subject, who is seeking a varied marketing role with plenty of customer contact. For example, an Electronics Engineer who wants to move into a marketing role.  Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to work under time pressures and juggle several responsibilities at once.   
 
The person must be self-starting, professional in approach and confident when communicating with customers.  Previous experience with technical marketing or Customer Service in an electronics company would be an advantage, as would experience dealing with customers in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with sales activities aimed at improving our quality of service and increasing penetration with existing customers 
  • Processing complex sales orders received from customers into the company MRP system and acknowledging the purchase order with the buyer 
  • Create customer quotations 
  • Liaising with the Manufacturing manager to progress outstanding purchase orders
  • Active participation in weekly revenue meetings to communicate customer activity and requirements to stakeholders
  • Assist with shipping documentation as required for exporting goods, including returning repaired items
  • Help to develop, update and maintain the website 

Skills & attributes 

  • Diploma-level or above in a technical or marketing discipline
  • Able to gain customer confidence by demonstrating competence and being aware of customer timescales
  • As the majority of our customers are Chinese and Malaysian, exposure to these languages would be advantageous
  • A quick learner with attention to detail
  • Flexible approach
  • Self-starter and able to work unsupervised
  • Experienced with MS office
