Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Senior Electronics Design Engineer for our client's newly opened Edinburgh Advanced Design Center. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building the next generation of LiDAR systems for autonomous vehicles, UAVs, industrial automation and other applications. This position is a research and development focused role for an innovative and versatile Senior Electronics Design Engineer who is keen to get involved in all aspects of LiDAR sensor development in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Analogue and digital (mixed signal) system design
  • System architecture design and integration
  • System specifications and requirements
  • Prototype development, testing and calibration
  • Design, characterization and testing of electronic modules
  • High speed, high power PCB and design and simulation
  • Schematic capture
  • Layout/supervision of layout of PCB design
  • Power supply design
  • Real-time sensing systems
  • Collaboration with mechanical, firmware, software & hardware engineers
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals and presentations
  • Communicate ideas to technical audiences
  • Supervision and mentoring of junior staff members
Requirements:
  • Advanced Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience of embedded systems including FPGA/GPU, high voltages, PMICs, high-speed driver circuits, high-speed serial interfaces
  • Experience of full product design cycle from concept to qualification and production
  • Experience with designs of challenging signal integrity, power integrity, EMI, EMC and thermal requirements
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in commercial systems
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Experience of high-speed and/or high-power circuit design and characterization desirable
  • Experience with LIDAR or RADAR systems preferred.
  • Experience with automotive electronics a bonus
  • Microcontroller and FPGA programming skills desirable
  • Optoelectronics experience desirable
  • General-purpose programming with at least one high-level language desirable
