Responsibilities

Chip in and drive new insights, crafting IP, methodologies and techniques to improve existing software algorithms and solution offerings

Providing feedback to the DSP SW roadmap, working with product definition teams to build leading-edge and differentiated feature-sets, primarily in the audio domain

Crafting and developing new algorithms and algorithmic frameworks

Simulating, characterizing and optimizing algorithms to attest that they meet intended goals, and optimizing the design to suit the constraints of custom hardware or DSP cores

Writing design and algorithm specifications, and leading peer reviews of these documents

Maintain an up to date understanding of techniques, designs and audio industry trends

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Degree (1st or 2.1) or equivalent, in Electronics, Physics, Signal Processing, Mathematics, Acoustics, Computer Science or another related field

Excellent mathematical ability and experience with the use of tools such as MATLAB / SIMULINK

Good understanding of audio, speakers and transducers and associated challenges

Innovative, creative, lateral thinking, and willingness to develop, prototype, and deliver those ideas

Ability to work to tight and variable timescales within a multi field team

Good interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical peers, and non-technical partners

Knowledge of Agile processes, and their use in sophisticated software projects

Experience in several of the following: active noise control; noise suppression; speech recognition; voice authentication; echo cancellation; audio improvement; non-linear processing and control; filter design; adaptive filters; sample-rate conversion; haptic feedback; machine learning; neural networks

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Higher level qualification (MSc or PhD in Electronics, Physics, Signal Processing, Mathematics, Acoustics, Computer Science or related field)

Experience with Python and C/C++

Confirmed experience in research and prototyping

Experience of planning and estimation of engineering development breakdown

Strong commercial awareness

An interest in audio and core audio processing techniques
