Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Project Manager to be based in Livingston for our client that provides full product development lifecycle solutions with complete products including mechanics and optics across markets from Energy, Life Sciences and Medical.

This role will suit an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager, to drive the development of the next generation of innovative solutions for clients. Working in design services the role offers customer contact and a variety of technically demanding projects. Projects cover the entire product lifecycle, from early concept development, detailed design, implementation and test, through to manufacture. This is a high-profile opportunity for you to demonstrate your talent in a fast-paced technical environment.

The focus of the role is to lead the team to develop initial ideas into real tangible customer products in short timescales. The project manager has broad authority and responsibility for the customer relationship and success of projects. You will use your electronics product development experience and your project management skills to transform our customers’ ideas into products.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years’ project management experience
  • Experience of customer and supplier relationship management
  • Good technical and commercial judgement
  • Detailed understanding of the embedded systems product development process, from concept through to manufacture
  • Knowledge of a variety of engineering development processes, from waterfall through to agile
  • The ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Project estimation and planning, Microsoft Project
  • Excellent communication skills, both customer facing and internal
  • Flexibility to interpret a variety of datasheets, protocol documents, design specifications

 

The following skills are an advantage:

  • Strong background in digital and analogue system design, microcontroller system design
  • Experience of project financial management and techniques, e.g. earned value analysis
  • Knowledge of highly regulated development processes, e.g. medical devices, ATEX
  • Experience of preparing detailed proposals, helping to negotiate and win new contracts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or closely related subject
