Enigma People Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the software team of our multinational client's Imaging Division based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will join the System Environment team responsible for the development of the hardware platforms required by the applications, product, test, validation and characterisation teams and by our customers.

This position is for a Mechanical Engineer to work as part of the overall System Environment team to design, develop and document precision mechanical parts and systems as well as interfacing with suppliers and subcontractors. These designs need to take into consideration the integration of the optical and electronic requirements and the usage environment.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Ability to convert abstract ideas and concepts into reality.
  • High precision mechanical design using Solidworks CAD
  • Generation and revision control of detailed Manufacturing Drawings
  • Generation and control of manufacturing documentation (specifications, assembly instructions, user manuals etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of fabrication
  • Good communication skills with both internal and external entities

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Solidworks PDM
  • Experience of thermal modelling in SolidWorks
  • Experience in enclosure design for optics and electronics
  • Familiar with Autocad
  • Experience in motion control systems design, particularly in the handling of very small components
