Enigma People Solutions is recruiting an enthusiastic, pro-active, self-motivated and experienced individual to lead the Software Services team at a large Education establishment in Edinburgh. Our client is at the beginning a new chapter in asset management and are in need of an experienced leader to drive these changes.

To be of interest you will have demonstrable experience of negotiating and administering contracts with large software houses and working in large, complex multi-stakeholder enterprise environments. You will play a vital role liaising with internal customer departments providing information and support on purchasing, renewing and maintaining licenses; collating internal software requirements and reaching institutional agreement on best approach; and providing expert advice on compliance with licensing laws and regulations.

Experience in IT Asset Management would be advantageous as the role is to play a significant role on the upcoming ITAM projects.  Awareness and experience of Hardware Asset Management would be beneficial as this role and the wider team will extend this capability for the University. Knowledge of industry-standard ITAM systems, both building and successfully running would be desired. Understanding of change management and competence in ITIL framework is desired. You will have the opportunity to reshape current software management processes, to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

You will have comprehensive exposure to working with senior decision makers to ensure the effective delivery of services. Demonstrable experience in leading, challenging, and motivating others is a necessity to succeed in this role. You will lead a small team of subject matter experts delivering and developing a quality service critical to the success of the organisation.

  • Substantial relevant experience of software license management in a large organisation
  • Proven ability to influence change and to lead, manage, and motivate others
  • A record of successful accomplishment in directing and planning the design of effective processes for software and hardware purchasing and asset management
  • Experience of working with senior decision makers and decision-making processes
  • Evidence of excellent organisational skills, written and oral communication skills, and inter-personal relationship development
