Enigma People Solutions is excited to have been engaged by a world leading international semiconductor design client to search for a talented EDA/CAD engineer to join their European design centre in Edinburgh.This is an exceptional opportunity for a hardworking and driven CAD Engineer to quickly become a major contributor in a Mixed-Signal CAD team supporting EDA/CAD tools for multiple integrated circuit design flows.

Responsibilities
Provide tool and methodology support for design and layout teams
Automation and improvement of design engineering flows
Deliver reports to design groups and to customers
Develop and automate new, existing and sophisticated design methodologies and liaise closely with external tool vendors to drive improvements

Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related subject area and/or a validated background in integrated circuit design, CAD/EDA development/support, or software development with a focus on integrated circuit design
Deep understanding of analogue or mixed-signal design methodologies
Experience with revision control systems such as perforce or svn
Expertise in at least one of the following: analogue simulation, parasitic extraction, Cadence OA
Extensive experience scripting preferably including Python and SKILL
Demonstrated debug and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of Linux / UNIX
Partner and collaborate with the team using strong interpersonal skills while supporting internal customers

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Expert-level knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso Environment
Experience with Cadence Spectre/SpectreX netlists, simulation, and debugging associated issues
Experience with Cadence Spectre/SpectreX simulation environment (Maestro/ADE)
Experience with Cadence Virtuoso layout editor driving the tool and debugging associated issues
Experience with digital simulators (Xcelium)
Experience setting up Cadence Virtuoso startup scripts, .cdsinit & .cdsenv settings
LVS debug & Parasitic Extraction with Mentor Calibre or Cadence QRC/Quantus
Analogue Simulation ‘SOA’ or Safe Operating Area assert generation and verification
Useful to have knowledge of ESD and IO design and review
Experience of PDK setup including DRC/ERC review and sign off
Experience with circuit ERC (PERC or InsightEDA)
